The 15,400 trees in our community woodland have now been planted, in addition to one hundred extra trees donated and planted by Calum Falconer (thanks Calum!).
Paths have been mowed by George Hitchcock (thanks George!).
Because the trees are very small and easily damaged, we would be very grateful if you could stick to the paths when walking in the “woodland”.
Please also keep dogs on leads to avoid disturbing ground-nesting birds.
Glebe field community garden
Work has been done (thanks to Mike Buchan and a great team of volunteers) to level an area of the Glebe field for the polycrub. This will arrive in the next few days and will be put up in the coming weeks, ready for this year’s gardening season.
Our first small projects (compost bins and a rhubarb patch) have already been completed.
The Glebe Community Garden has also received fantastic news of an extra grant to be awarded from Aberdeenshire Council, which will allow us to do more work to make the Glebe field a great space for everyone to enjoy, whether you are using the mown area for games, or joining in with the gardening effort.
